Pet Flight Crates and Measurement Guide

Choose the crate around the pet and the journey

Global Lux arranges travel crates, including custom wooden crates through its sister company. Request a quote before buying a crate so the team can assess your pet’s measurements and the planned journey. Final acceptance depends on the crate and the airline or transport arrangements; a photograph alone does not guarantee approval.

How to measure your pet

Use centimetres for all four measurements. A is Body Length: tip of the nose to the base of the tail. B is Leg Height: ground to the top of the front leg. C is Width: across the shoulders. D is Total Height: ground to the highest point, including pointed ear tips. Record the actual pet measurements, not a guessed crate size. If B exceeds D, remeasure before submitting.

Can I use a crate I already own?

Ask the team to review the existing crate before relying on it for travel. Be ready to provide photographs and dimensions through a channel arranged with the team. Suitability depends on the animal and journey. Our chatbot collects pet measurements but does not certify crates.

Large dogs and separate crates

Custom wooden crates can be arranged where appropriate. A large crate may restrict aircraft options, so contact the team early with the pet’s size and route. Cats and dogs travelling on the same journey use separate crates; flight capacity determines whether they can travel together.

Send clear measurements with your enquiry

Provide each pet’s name, breed, age, weight and A–D values separately. Include your departure and destination, travel timeframe and contact details. Both the chatbot and website form label the four measurements in the enquiry sent to the team. The team uses those details to assess the crate and prepare your quote.
